Think about the best leader you’ve ever worked for.

What made them stand out? Chances are it wasn’t their title, years of experience or position on the organizational chart. More often, people remember leaders for how they made others feel and the trust they built.

While leadership styles vary from person to person, the qualities employees admire most tend to be remarkably consistent. Great leaders earn respect through their actions, and those actions often reflect a genuine commitment to helping others succeed.

What Makes a Good Leader?

Ask a group of employees to describe a leader they respect, and you’ll likely hear many of the same words:
