The MBA to Remember 25th Anniversary of 9/11 Attacks at Memorial Vehicle Show

The Manufacturer & Business Association (The MBA) is inviting the community to gather for an afternoon of remembrance, gratitude and unity during its 9/11 Memorial Vehicle Show, starting at 3 p.m. Friday, September 11, in the parking lot of The MBA Conference Center, 2171 West 38th Street. The free event will pay tribute to the nearly 3,000 victims, their families and first responders on the 25th anniversary of the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks. All media are invited to attend.

“Together, we’ll honor the lives lost, recognize the courage and sacrifice of our local first responders, observe a moment of silence and celebrate the resilience that continues to define our community,” said MBA President and Chief Executive Officer Lori Joint.

The 9/11 terrorist attacks are considered the deadliest acts of terrorism on U.S. soil. On September 11, 2001, terrorists hijacked two commercial planes, hitting the Twin Towers in New York City at 8:46 a.m. (North Tower) and 9:03 a.m. (South Tower) with both towers collapsing within two hours. A third hijacked plane then struck the Pentagon near Washington, D.C., at 9:37 a.m. A fourth plane, Flight 93, then crashed in a field in Shanksville, Pennsylvania at around 10:03 a.m., after passengers fought back against the hijackers, preventing it from hitting its intended target in Washington, D.C.

As part of The MBA’s memorial show, attendees are invited to bring their classic car, modern ride or unique vehicle as a tribute to the American spirit that carried the nation forward in the days and years that followed. In addition to a brief ceremony and remarks at 3:30 p.m., a large flag will be displayed by the Erie Fire Department and Kearsarge Fire Department. Food trucks also will be onsite including Only Dogs, Tropical Breeze and The Cluck Truk.

The MBA’s 9/11 Memorial Car Show is sponsored by Loesel-Schaaf Insurance Agency, Inc.; NFI Empire, Gerber Collision & Glass, and Real Audio & Electronics. Flag sponsor is Szymanski Consulting.
