“For both of these Manufacturer’s Association events that we have folks attending, we use the membership cost as opposed to the real cost which…was a savings of over $1,000. If I recall, the membership was less than that, so it’s already frankly paid for itself and I think it was just recognizing the board for the good decision of becoming members to better educate its staff, and I just wanted to recognize that.”

“The Manufacturer’s Association and the leadership that Ralph Pontillo and the board took in the early 1990s in community health improvement made a significant positive impact on the community and me personally. This work to a large degree led to the founding of Strategy Solutions. We have also facilitated many meetings and training sessions in the building that have made a significant positive impact on many other businesses and nonprofits over the years. And I now have my office in the building!
But on this anniversary – I think that it is important to say something about the community impact this work has made. Driven by the desire to lower health care costs for employers, the MA’s involvement in the Erie Health Care Cost Summit helped to drive significant community and state investment in the public health infrastructure that we have in the community today. And the model was adopted by the state during the Ridge administration as the framework for PA State Health Improvement Planning Districts – so many other communities throughout the state have benefited from the leadership of the MBA.”
