MBA to Host 13th Annual HR Conference on November 5

ERIE – The Manufacturer & Business Association (The MBA) will host its 13th annual HR Conference on Wednesday, November 5, at the Bayfront Convention Center, 1 Sassafras Pier. The daylong event will feature interactive learning experiences, a wide variety of exhibitors, networking opportunities, dynamic speakers and great prizes. Registration begins at 8 a.m. Program ends at 4 p.m. All media are invited to attend.

The conference kicks off with the morning keynote address by Josh Roberts, an entrepreneur and CEO, who leads USA Talent Solutions and USA Field Services, two rapidly growing firms providing tailored workforce solutions across more than 18 states. His companies are among Pittsburgh’s “Fast 50,” and he has helped reshape how skilled talent is recruited across energy, manufacturing and field services.

Roberts’ inspiring presentation, “Zero to 1 Sheep: Grit, Growth and a New Playbook for Talent Leadership,” will be followed by a Financial Wellness Spotlight by Duncan Financial Group. Then, attorneys from the Pittsburgh-area law firm Steptoe & Johnson PLLC will present “Legal Brief: Artificial Intelligence, Human Resources, and Employment Discrimination.” After a short break, attorneys from Knox McLaughlin Gornall & Sennett, P.C. in Erie will then present “Legal Brief: Mastering Internal Investigations.”

Following lunch, The MBA will announce the winner of its third annual HR Person of the Year Award. Final presentation of the day will be by Life Force Wellness on “Future-Proofing Your Workforce to Beyond Bubble Wrap.” The presentation by Megan Wollerton will invite HR leaders to shift from a coddle culture to a challenge culture that strengthens mental health, fosters resilience, and equips employees with the tools to thrive.

“The MBA is proud to be the premier HR resource for employers in the region, and we are grateful to our member companies and sponsors for supporting this year’s conference, especially our premier sponsor, ECCA Payroll,” said MBA Vice President and Employment Counsel Tammy Toman, JD, PHR, SHRM-CP. “We hope that attendees will find it to be an engaging learning opportunity and leave better equipped to navigate the challenges in today’s HR field.”

Event sponsors include: ECCA Payroll, Knox Law, Steptoe & Johnson PLLC, Widget Financial, C.H. Reams, Duncan Financial Group, VBA, Life Force Wellness, UCCI, PSECU and Gerlach’s Garden & Floral.
