Evans is the HR manager at Port Erie Plastics in Erie. She is also the third person to receive the MBA’s prestigious HR Person of the Year Award, an annual award that began in 2023. The 2025 award is based on total votes received from MBA member companies – including owners and employees – from September 29 through October 10 online at mbabizmag.com.

Evans has been with Port Erie Plastics since December 2016. In her current position, she’s responsible for planning, directing and coordinating all human resource activities and staff of the organization. According to the leadership team at Port Erie, “Heather always has a positive attitude, and her enthusiasm is contagious. She is also very selfless. She will do everything in her power to help someone in need no matter the circumstance. She is great at networking for a good cause, and employees from other companies always have great things to say about her character.”
Evans is a member of the Society of Human Resource Management, and a Human Resource Roundtable member at The MBA. She is also a member of Board of Directors (vice president) for the Autism Society Northwestern Pennsylvania, and a member of the Board of Trustees at the Northern Pennsylvania Regional College.
