ERIE - The Manufacturer & Business Association (MBA), in partnership with the Erie Regional Chamber & Growth Partnership, will host a legislative breakfast, starting at 8 a.m. Wednesday, May 8, at the MBA Conference Center, 2171 West 38th Street, featuring Secretary Ben Kirshner of Pennsylvania’s newly created Office of Transformation and Opportunity. Registration begins at 7:45 a.m. All media are invited to attend.
Kirshner is tasked with developing an overall growth strategy to implement economic development projects. Instead of forcing business to go to multiple agencies for permits, approvals and funding, the Office will serve as a one-stop-shop to cut through red tape, bring state agencies together, support Pennsylvania businesses who want to grow, and encourage other businesses to move here.
Kirshner will provide updates and his plan to help Pennsylvania’s business community as well as provide an opportunity for you to provide real world feedback.
"We are very pleased for Erie to be one of the first communities in Pennsylvania for Secretary Kirshner to visit as the Secretary of the Office of Transformation and Opportunity.” said James Grunke, President and CEO, Erie Regional and Growth Partnership. “It is a great opportunity to hear from him as well as showcase the great work being done here and we are grateful to co-host the event with our partners at the MBA."
“The MBA is uniquely positioned to give our members access to leaders in state government that make the decisions to directly affect their business,” said Jezree Friend, MBA vice president. “We are excited to partner with the Erie Chamber to give our area the most exposure possible for this high level event.”
In 2004, Kirshner founded Elite SEM (now Tinuiti), an award-winning digital performance marketing agency at the forefront of the then nascent industry. The agency grew from search engine marketing to an online marketing powerhouse, with a comprehensive set of services designed to grow digital market share across the triopoly of Google, Facebook and Amazon, while building high growth digital marketing campaigns for multinational corporations and Fortune 1000 brands.
His new and disruptive vision for company culture garnered numerous awards, including the No. 1 place to work in the USA for Millennials (featured on the Today Show), as well as top rankings in outlets like Entrepreneur Magazine, Inc Magazine, Best Company to Work For, and Crain’s. In 2018, Kirshner placed No. 12 by Glassdoor in the ranking of Best CEO.
