ERIE – The Manufacturer & Business Association (MBA) will host its first Eggs 'n' Issues briefing of 2022 at 8 a.m. Wednesday, January 26, at the MBA Conference Center, 2171 West 38th Street in Erie, as The Erie Community Foundation's (ECF) new president Karen Bilowith outlines her plans, ideas and vision for building upon the success of one of Erie’s most important public charities. Registration begins at 7:45 a.m. All media are invited to attend.
With an impressive history dating back to 1935, ECF serves as a bridge between generous donors and effective community organizations. Through its ever-expanding network of 800 charitable endowments, the foundation provides more than $21 million annually in support of the Erie region.
Bilowith joined ECF in October 2021. She leads the foundation's efforts to improve the quality of life in the region in partnership with generous donors, effective nonprofit agencies, community leaders and a committed board of trustees and staff.
Bilowith has spent her career working in community philanthropy, where generosity is transformed into sustained community impact. She was formerly the president and CEO of the Idaho Community Foundation, a statewide public charitable foundation with more than $218 million in assets and 640 individual funds providing grants in every county in Idaho. Prior to joining the Idaho Community Foundation in 2016, she was the president and CEO of the Community Foundation for the Greater Capital Region in Albany, New York.
