MBA to Host Virtual HR & Employment Law Conference on October 28

ERIE – Local human resource (HR) professionals will come together virtually for a full day of thought-provoking presentations focused on leadership topics that can transform their organizations, during the Manufacturer & Business Association’s (MBA) eighth annual HR & Employment Law Conference starting at 8:45 a.m. Wednesday, October 28.
 
The day’s discussion will focus on topics critical to the HR field, such as how to attract and keep the best talent in the up and coming generation, innovative workplace trends and impact, how to stop workplace burnout and build employee resiliency, and employment law updates.

7th Annual MFG Day Celebration Goes Virtual in 2020

NASA Astronaut to Make Special Appearance at October 14 Event;
Scavenger Hunt, Breakout Sessions to Extend Participation
ERIE – The seventh annual Manufacturing Day (MFG Day) celebration will be a one-hour virtual event from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Wednesday October 14, 2020, and include a special guest appearance by NASA Astronaut Edward Michael “Mike” Fincke, organizers announced today. The event is presented by the Manufacturer & Business Association (MBA) and its partners, the National Tooling & Machining Association (NTMA) of Northwestern Pennsylvania and Career Street, along with dozens of area business sponsors. All media are invited to attend the online event by registering online at www.mbausa.org.

PA Attorney General Candidate to be Featured at Manufacturer & Business Association’s October 8 Candidate Forum

ERIE – Heather Heidelbaugh, Republican nominee for Pennsylvania attorney general, will be the guest speaker at a candidate forum starting at 9 a.m. Thursday, October 8, at the Manufacturer & Business Association (MBA) Conference Center, 2171 West 38th Street. To remain compliant with Pennsylvania COVID-19 guidelines, this briefing is only open to MBA Board and Policy Committee Members.All media are invited to attend and will have an opportunity for an interview.

“The MBA consistently creates opportunities for our members to be educated about candidates in important elections,” said MBA President and CEO John Krahe. “Our candidate forums also allow our members to inform those running for office about their issues of top concern. The MBA has become a respected statewide business, trade and advocacy association by ensuring our members have a seat at the table when issues impacting business are discussed.”

Heidelbaugh’s work in law and policy led to her appointment to the Governor’s Commission on Judicial Appointments in 1998. In 2005, the administration of then-President George W. Bush invited her to the White House to interview for an appointment to the Third Circuit Court of Appeals.

Two decades later, Heidelbaugh became chair of the state advisory commission on selection of a U.S. attorney, U.S. marshal and federal judiciary. Heidelbaugh is one of the most highly regarded courtroom practitioners in the country and an equity partner at her Pittsburgh firm Leech Tishman. She is running against Democratic incumbent Josh Shapiro in the general election on November 3, 2020.

ERIE – The Manufacturer & Business Association (MBA) today announced that it has rescheduled its 115th Annual Event featuring keynote speaker Retired U.S. Navy Four-Star Admiral William McRaven for October 13, 2021 at the Bayfront Convention Center, 1 Sassafras Pier. The event was previously scheduled to be held October 14, 2020.
